Indian head Massage is a wonderfully relaxing therapy that involves massage of the upper back, neck and shoulders, head and face.  The massage is safe, and effective. It can provide relief from aches and pains and stress symptoms, promote hair growth, soothe, comfort and rebalance your skin and give you a deep sense of calmness and tranquillity.

Indian head massage, or Champissage (champi is an original Indian word meaning Head massage) is based on the Ancient Ayurvedic healing system.  It has been practised in India for well over 1000 years, originally by women who used the technique to keep their hair thick, healthy and in a beautiful condition.  The massage stimulates the scalp, which nourishes the hair roots.  A special oil, generally an Ayurvedic preparation containing five herbs, may be used to improve the texture of the hair.  Generally therapists in the western world who practise the therapy just use a light massage cream as the hair itself produces sufficient sebum to manoeuvre the hair without dragging or pulling it.

The head, neck and shoulders are important energy centres within your body.  If you are feeling stressed or angry, tension tends to accumulate.  The tension can later show up as a stiff neck and shoulders, eyestrain and sometimes even hair loss.  Indian head massage involves working with a gentle but firm rhythm to help un-knot blockages and relieve this uncomfortable build-up tension.  However, its effect is not just physical: it works on an emotional level too, calming the spirit, promoting relaxation and relieving stress

For my manicures and pedicures I use The Gel Bottle

manicure is a cosmetic beauty treatment for the fingernails and hands enjoyed by both sexes. A manicure can treat just the hands, just the nails, or both. A standard manicure usually includes filing and shaping of the nails and the application of polish. Some speciality manicures, such as the French Manicure, may also be offered. Treatments for hands usually include soaking in a softening substance and application of hand lotion. A similar treatment performed on the feet is a pedicure. The word "manicure" comes from the Latin manus, meaning "hand," and cura meaning "care".

I can also apply treatments to your nails, such as filing, polishing, and painting. Fancier manicures include painting pictures or designs on the nails or applying small decals or imitation jewels.

It began 5000 years ago. In India, henna was used for manicure. The term mehendi, used synonymously for henna, derives from the Sanskrit mehandika. Much of the modern revival of henna derives from its popularity in India. Cixi, dowger empress of China, was said to wear very long artificial nails.

I always prepare for a client by ensuring that the working area and tools are sanitized and conveniently located. This might include sanitizing the working surface, such as a table top, placing clean metal implements into a jar with sanitizing liquid, and having sanitized towels and new tools such as orange sticks and emery boards arranged neatly near the working area. Soaking liquids are not reused, and all water used can be boiled or otherwise sanitized. These preparations prevent the possible spread of disease. Proper lighting is also important.

pedicure is a way to improve the appearance of the feet, and their nails. It basically is a manicure for the feet. The word pedicure comes form the Latin words pes, which means foot, and cura, which means care. It also means the care of the feet and toenails. A pedicure can be helpful because it can prevent nail diseases and nail disorders. The history of pedicures dates back to ancient Egypt. A carving of a pharaoh's official was noted as representing pedicures and manicures.

Massage  involves using the hands to perform movements on the skin to promote relaxation, healing and wellbeing. The main techniques of Western massage involve stroking, kneading, rubbing or pressing on the body. Massage has been practised for thousands of years in many cultures: in ancient Greece, Egypt and Rome, for example. The oriental traditions of acupressure, foot and hand massage, and therapeutic massage have survived for thousands of years and are still widely practised in the East and the West. They've also influenced the development of modern techniques such as zone therapy and reflexology.

Aromatherapy massage uses essential oils, derived from the flowers, leaves, stalks and roots of certain plants and trees.
Oriental massage techniques often use direct hand pressure either through clothing or directly on the skin.

Ayurvedic (Indian) massage uses many aromatic oils. Modern Western massage techniques are based on an understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the body. The hand movements are used to facilitate the circulation of blood and the lymphatic system, and to release muscular tension and joint stiffness. Oriental massage therapies are based on the 'meridian' system of energetic channels that course through the body. Pressure techniques are thought to release blockages and improve the flow of vital energy (or 'chi') in these channels.

When the body's touched, receptors in the skin send messages to the brain causing the release of chemicals such as endorphins. These produce a sense of relaxation and wellbeing and can also relieve pain. Massage also improves the flow of blood and lymph fluid and helps to eliminate waste products from the body. It's also useful for specific ailments such as depression, neck and back pain, and insomnia. It can be helpful during pregnancy and labour, too, and is used to help premature babies thrive and mothers bond with their infants.

Western massage therapies are performed directly on the skin. Clothing is usually removed for a full-body massage, although underwear can be worn if you prefer. Towels cover the areas not being massaged and help to keep the body warm. In oriental massage therapies, which use pressure techniques, clothing is usually kept on. A full-body massage usually takes about an hour. If only part of the body is being massaged, such as the neck and shoulders, the massage may last 15 to 30 minutes. The skin's natural functions will be stimulated improving the condition of the skin and the warmth created will help relax the body physically and mentally.

Body massage originated in Sweden. Swedish body massage is
the original massage technique involving a sequence of movements working superficially and deeper into the tissue layers. Movements such as effleurage work over the skin with the palm of the hand producing relaxation, whereas movements like petrissage work deeply. Petrissage movements such as wringing and kneading will help to relieve tension promoting deep relaxation in the tissues and muscles. As no two people are alike, the body massage sequence will be adapted to the client's needs. Swedish body massage may also be described as back massage, stress massage.

I offer this treatment respecting the client's modesty at all times. The client is covered in soft towels, which are turned back to reveal only the area to be massaged at that time. Areas massaged in a full body massage are normally, legs, arms front of shoulders, abdomen (optional) back of legs or thigh and back. By ensuring you visit a reputable, established salon that displays professional certificates and qualifications, such as mine, you will receive a wonderful, relaxing, treatment

Reflexology  is a natural, relaxing method of re-balancing the energy flows of the body.

Reflexology is a naturally stimulating therapy designed to rebalance the body’s natural energy flow, by applying pressure to the nerve endings in the feet, of which there are over 7000 in each foot.

The aim of reflexology is to promote a state of  “HOMEOSTASIS.”   This is the physiological process by which the internal systems of the body (e.g. blood pressure, body temperature, acid-base balance) etc. are maintained at equilibrium, despite variations in the external conditions.

Our feet are mirror images of our own bodies.  Therefore someone with a large frame will reflect this by having wide feet, a very petite person by having very small feet etc.  Try and visualise your body systems as being set in zones, with five zones on the left foot and five zones on the right foot.  As the heart is found on the left side of the chest the reflex points to this organ will be found in the left foot.  The liver is situated on the right side of our body and so the reflex to this organ will be found in the right foot.

As we work through the zones by applying pressure via the nerve endings, an impulse is transmitted through the nerve fibres.  When an obstacle such as acid crystals, wastes, or unused calcium deposits form, the energy flow is impeded and the organ that it then serves is affected.  Our body systems then become depleted, we start to feel unwell, we may suffer flu-like symptoms or have regular viral infections, which puts undue stress upon our body and thus prevents it from acting efficiently.

Uber Peel is a skin treatment that works alone or in conjunction with micro needling

For all my facials I use CRYSTAL CLEAR PRODUCTS

Hopi ear candles are named after the Native American Tribe the Hopi’s, who first introduced this gentle therapy to Europe. The candles that I use are made of 100% pure bees wax, are anti-inflammatory, anti allergic, antioxidant, with anti bacterial germicidal properties.

The ear contains nerve endings and many acupuncture points, all of which are connected to the mind and emotions in the human body. The points are connected to the subtle energy field that flows in streams throughout the body. When purified the subtle energy allows the life forces to open up to our most sensitive side.

Ear candling acts as a catalyst to clear out debris and stagnation, which has accumulated in the ear canals, forming a blockage. Once these blockages are cleared a feeling of well-being occurs, allowing the body to heal itself naturally.

The candling technique is non invasive. It promotes a warm sensation to the ear canal and is completed with a facial drainage massage. It can be used to treat a number of conditions and it aids in relaxation thus relieving stress or anxiety related problems.

Tints and Facials add style to inherent beauty.

A facial is a cosmetic treatment of the face, commonly involving a variety of skin treatments, grooming steps and deep cleansing of the face by various means including: steam, exfoliation, extraction, creams, lotions, masks, peels, and massage.

Do not use soap to clean the face, as they contain thickening agents that clog the pores.

Mascara is also the old name for the city of Muaskar in Algeria.

Mascara is a cosmetic used to darken, thicken and define eyelashes. Mascara comes in three forms: liquid, cake and cream. It also comes in many formulas, tints and colours. The general purpose of mascara is to emphasize, thicken, lengthen, and define lashes. Mascara is available with tube and wand applicators. Ingredients in mascara include water, wax thickeners, film-formers and preservatives. Mascara brushes can be straight or curved, to curl eye lashes, with fine or thick bristles. Some mascara wands contain rayon or nylon fibres to lengthen eyelashes.

History - The first mascara product was invented by Eugene Rimmel in the 19th century. The word "rimmel" still means "mascara" in several languages, including French and Italian.

The word mascara derives from the Spanish word máscara or the Italian maschera, which means "mask". Modern mascara was created in 1913 by a chemist named T. L. Williams for his sister, Mabel. This early mascara was made from coal dust mixed with Vaseline petroleum jelly. The product was a success with Mabel, and Williams began to sell his new product through the mail. His company Maybelline, a combination of his sister's name and Vaseline, eventually became a leading cosmetics company.

Mascara was available only in cake form, and was composed of colorants and carnauba wax. Users wet a brush and rubbed it over the cake, then applied it to the eyes. The modern tube and wand applicator did not appear until 1957, when it was introduced by and founded by Helena Rubinstein.

All  waxings  occur in a private room with a door. Either in my private room at my home or in your own home.
For leg and bikini area you remove your trousers or skirt & if necessary underwear & lie on a table with clean paper or sheets.

For eyebrow and facial waxings just glasses need be removed.
Because you only need about a quarter-inch of hair for the wax to grab onto, for bikini we will start by trimming your pubic hair to the right length. For leg a certain amount of hair is needed for the service to work.

I am fast, which means less discomfort for you. I will dip a waxing stick into a pot of hot wax & then spread it onto your skin & hair.
I will then apply a cloth strip over the still-warm wax, pressing firmly so the cloth, hair and wax adhere to one another. When the wax has cooled, I will pull the strip off, in the opposite direction of your hair growth, pulling the hairs out by the root.
If needed I will tweeze any stray hairs.

Bikini and leg Waxing usually starts in the front & moves toward the back. Once the waxing is over, I will spread soothing lotion over the waxed areas. You should ask what to do in case of bumps, redness or ingrown hairs. I will tell you if you don't ask. I will give full after care advice.

I also offer IBX SYSTEM nail treatment to repair damaged nails and strengthen the nails.

IBX Repair is step one of the protective shield: A full coat of IBX REPAIR acts as the fusion layer to begin the formation of the IPN. Helps to reduce “white spots” on the surface of the nail. Cured with an LED light

IBX is step two of the protective shield. It completes the formation of the IPN within the nail plate. It toughens the nail plate by fusing together the upper layers, providing strength and protection. A full coat is always applied, whether for Gel Polish protection or to grow natural nails. Cured with an LED light.

I apply the IBX System after every Gel Polish removal for safer Gel Polish wear and better nail care and protection.

IBX Repair is step one for natural nail growth: REPAIR is applied specifically to targeted damaged areas including splits, peeling and free edge delamination. Acts like “double-sided sticky tape” to seal damaged areas together.

IBX is step two for natural nail growth: It completes the formation of the IPN within the nail plate. It toughens the nail plate by fusing together the upper layers, providing strength and protection.

A full coat is always applied, whether for Gel Polish protection or to grow natural nails.REPAIR Intense treatment used to improve nail plate integrity under any Gel Polish Coating. Also used to target natural nail imperfections and weaknesses that prevent natural nails from growing long.

STRENGTHEN Penetrating toughening agent that fuses together the nail’s top layers to improve nail plate integrity under any Gel Polish Coating.  Also used to keep your natural nails strong so that they grow long.

This innovative two-part system offers revolutionary benefits:

Under Gel Polish - Creates a protective shield for the nail
Reduces white spots that tend to occur with the use of Gel Polish

As a Natural Nail Growth Treatment - IBX Repair is used to repair severe nail damage to set the stage for growth & IBX toughens the upper layers of the nail plate allowing nail growth & With multiple treatments fills up deep grooves resulting in a smoother nail plate & Natural nail color and appearance

Crystal Clear MICRODERMABRASION

This is most recent addition. I have been fully trained and approved to provide this excellent service.

From a simple beauty flash providing an instant rejuvenated texture and lift to tired skin, to a more in-depth treatment for lines, wrinkles, acne scarring, stretch marks and pigmentation problems.

Dermatologist and Dermatology approved, the Crystal Clear Skin System microdermabrasion technique performs a progressive rather than an aggressive solution over a course of treatments.

Microdermabrasion offers a safe, controlled method of skin exfoliation and allows superficial peeling of the Stratum Corneum reducing its thickness through mechanical abrasion of the dead skin cells.

A flow of crystals impinges directly on to the skin surface and the speed of the crystals together with their abrasive nature will gently remove the epidermal cells layer by layer.

Used crystals and dead skin cells are drawn away through the vacuum action, allowing for the controlled exfoliation of the Stratum Corneum.

The gentle vacuum action also achieves an immediate lifting effect on tired muscles and stimulates the blood supply to the skin’s surface to help promote new collagen and elastin formation.

Specific attention is given to any areas of concern such as open pores, fine lines & wrinkles, blemished skin or acne scaring, resulting in dramatically rejuvenated skin.
